Dear parents,

The official RED NOSE DAY is on Friday 17th March. Please find below all the information about what we will be doing to raise money for Comic Relief and the British Red Cross Turkey / Syria Earthquake appeal. Proceeds will be split evenly between the two charities.

The theme this year is the Red Nose Revolution, where the littlest of things can make a huge difference.

Clothes

We would like the children to dress in red next Friday. If not, they might want to do something else instead like wear fancy dress to school, have a wacky hairstyle or wear their pyjamas

The Great WP Bake Off

Bake a cake! Or a cupcake. Or traybake. A highlight of the day. Children can bring in their creations, which must be nut free and vegetarian. Vegan and gluten free bakes would also be very welcome. There are three categories for judging – EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

School Council have the enviable task of judging the entries and deciding the winners and runners up for each category. Prizes will be awarded the following week and announced in assembly. After the judging, cakes are then sold to the rest of the school, All cakes cost £1. The sale will take place at morning playtime and EYFS come before the rest of the school. we usually have so many delicious cakes that we can do a sale after school too. We will send a text to families if this is the case.

Get sponsored

Children are encouraged to be sponsored to raise money. They can do anything they would like to, but we do remind them not to ask school staff to sponsor them or ask strangers. The sponsor form is attached or copies can be collected from the office. What could they do?

Wash the dishes for a week (parents really like this one!)

Sponsored silence – how long can you not talk for?

Wear their pyjamas to school.

No sweets for a week

Or something else?

Last year we raised over £1500 and so we are hoping to beat that figure this year!

Thank you for your support.
